Rather disappointed - I called yesterday at about 10AM as my fan was having serious issues -- I explained that my fan had to be shut off and the summer heat is increasing. I was told that I would get a call from the scheduler shortly as the fan had to be turned off. I think that the scheduler called me back at about 11:45 today -- about 27 hours after my initial call.

I am saying "I think" because the message left was garbled and incoherent -- when I called back, the call rolled me to a voice mail. I just tried to call again and it rolled to voice mail again. So not sure if it is an issue with Allen or perhaps just an issue with the scheduler -- but regardless -- waiting over 24 hours for a callback is unacceptable -- Allen needs to address this. I will not be using them going forward.

My first time using Allen Service & was very impressed with their responsiveness & customer follow through. One of the only AC companies I was able to actually reach on a Saturday evening when my AC went out, on the hottest day of the year. Tried other companies who said they wouldn't be able to schedule me for several months, but Allen Service was able to schedule me in a few days. Great communication from the time I set the appointment up to when the technician arrived. Christopher, the technician, was on time & very professional.

Absolutely ridiculous. Had a soft clog in one of the sewer lines and called Allen services to come out. They were in my house for 5 hours and all they accomplished was pushing the clog deeper and making it worse. Before they got there it was just the downstairs sink that backed up and by the time they left I was not able to use any thing in the house.

On top of that they left a huge mess in the basement and still charged me 320$. And when I called the supervisor to figure out what's happening he told me that they would have to come back even when my work schedule doesn't allow me to take days off. His response "I can't help it if your schedule doesn't match mine." What a waist of time and money. Don't let these people in your house.

I had a toilet repaired my technician was professional and courteous explained everything he did and not only took care of me but provided exceptional work on the job. Jon B from Allen Service Will be my future installer for any plumbing needs I have in the future. He is a great person and a better technician. I will recommend Allen Service to my friends and family. I'm very happy with the service they provided. They get my five star review!

I recently had Allen Service do an overpriced $16,000 sewer line repair, and it was probably the worst financial decision of my life. First: Jason, the plumber who wrote the handwritten contract, is an absolute liar. I was lied to on at least five occasions. He promised me again and again that they would provide emailed documentation of the contract as well as an itemized invoice.

I never received any documents from the company. Jason also made verbal statements clarifying the extent of the work to be done. These statements were either ignorantly forgotten, or they were lies. Additionally, Jason and the crew were 1-4 hours late EVERY time they showed up. Second: Many issues developed from the work completed. -They left hundreds of pounds of concrete chunks spread literally all over my front yard (which took me 20 hours of labor to remove) -They left PVC, cast iron pipe, rubber gloves, and straight up trash in the front yard.

Nothing was hauled away. They attempted to bury all of the work mess in the trench they dug to fix a belly in the yard. However, the rubbish was only spread on the surface. -Broke a water line and didn't fix it properly (the water line started to leak after they left, and I ended up fixing the CPVC myself) -Left exposed wire next to a shower drain -Left 2x4 framing unsupported when they broke the concrete underneath and caused a small wall to fall down later and destroy the new concrete -Left pvc pieces under reinstalled carpet, so I had to tear the carpet up and remove it -Two way clean outs were installed 8 inches bellow grade in the front yard!

I had to place large rocks over the clean out location, so if we need to access them, we can locate and dig them out. This project was to replace less than 15 feet of sewer line. Save yourself money, stress, and dignity by choosing a company other than Allen Service.

I've used them several times and they are very hit or miss but you get the feeling they push their employees to upsell as much as possible. I paid $620 dollars to fix one toilet in my house because the inner parts were worn down. You can buy those same parts at Home Depot for 20 dollars or less. I guess labor cost 600 dollars from Allen Service?

I mean, it took maybe less than an hour to fix. The service guy was really cool and I super enjoyed talking with him but 620 dollars to fix a toilet? Seriously? How do you sleep at night charging people something like that for such a simple job in a tough economy at the end of a pandemic a month before tax season? It's criminal.

I had a leaky faucet and Terra was the tech who came to my house. She had Mike with her, who was in training. They explained everything to me in great and understandable detail, including the cost. They worked quickly and efficiently. Other services, which would extend the life of my system and provide maintenance were presented, without pressure to purchase. I am one who does not look forward to people working in my home, but Terra made it quite enjoyable! I highly recommend her and Allen Service!

Chuck B. and his helper, Jake, were terrific! They had booties and masks on before entering, and that was much appreciated. We discussed pricing after they got an idea what would be needed. A rug was put down to save the floor, and they brought everything they needed including paper towels. They were able to re-use a part to save me a little money (always appreciated).

The job was completed quickly and efficiently. We even discussed other appliances I had questions about. I'm definitely considering joining their Service Partner Plan. Thank you Allen Services! Update. Just got my water heater replaced by Chuck & Jake. Same exceptional service. I love these guys! They are always friendly yet efficient, and Chuck provides straight talk recommendations. BTW, I cancelled my home warranty and purchased a Service Partner Plan from Allen 2 months ago; it's a fantastic deal for the price, and my peace of mind.

So, I was called a liar by the Allen Services plumber in charge of my project. All of a sudden, what I was working with was a FORENSIC WOOD SPECIALIST, not a plumber. He could tell, wow, I was so impressed, from one glance, that the corner of my house was NOT clipped by their little digger. No way. No how. And the rainspout was all bent and mangled by THE WIND. Also, I had to get the ENTIRE project redone by another company.

In fact, it's probably because of the work they were doing that the other line failed. Never mind. It's fixed now, but, folks, steer clear of this company. Although MANY of the people working there are good and honest, it just takes one bad apple to spoil the entire bin.

Andrew K was absolutely awesome. Had plumbing issues with my small bathroom.or so I thought. Andrew explained thoroughly where the issues were and who was responsible for them as I live in a MH community. He was extremely pleasant to speak with and very courteous. Loved that he had a sense of humor. He was very honest about the issues and it was much appreciated. Allen Service has a new member because of Andrew. Thanks so much!

If you just want a new furnace I'm sure they will do fine but Furnace REPAIR they get a flat F. I called for a "tune up" where they proceeded to break the furnace apart and state what parts are wrong. The so called tune up is really to tell you every questionable part that is"bad". Anyway they found parts that equaled 5000 if I am a "member. One part has another part connected to it and is not an "extra" part.

They then David I had a horrible carbon dioxide problem and they turned the furnace off and said I could not use. Now mind you I have a carbon dioxide alarm 4 inches from the furnace and it never went off. I got another company in and found no carbon dioxide leak. The parts were unnecessary and they charged for 2 parts when one had both parts on it.

It is clear they are in the sales games they are not there to quote the least to get you by. They create fear tactics to generate a sale and did nothing in repairs. I have found a wonderful ethical company I will call from now on but it's not Allen

Our Allen Appliance tech, Zach, appeared to do a very thorough inspection and cleaning of our furnace. It's been a long time since we have seen a tech do so thorough an inspection. When finished, he gave us a complete written report and recommendations for the future. Our furnace is old so his recommendations were valued. He said our furnace did not have any immediate issues beyond normal maintenance. He also pointed out several things to watch out for because of the furnaces age and usage. We would not hesitate to call Allen's again if anything happened.

Clayton Butler was our service technician and he was amazing. Being newer to Colorado from Illinois, he is the reason we will be a loyal customer along with the amazing customer service inside the office. From the minute I put my request for service online they called in quick time to assess my needs and get an appointment for me that was convenient.

They called prior to the technician arriving and sent a text with the technicians name and about the time of arrival. Clayton arrived at the expected time and was very respectful of Covid protocol as well as making sure not to track in the elements as we had a snow storm. He walked me through the process and how long it would take and asked permission to come in and out and access the places needed.

As I work from home he checked in periodically to tell me what was going on. He was very engaging and friendly. After the call he spent the time to explain what the issues were and the possible alternatives. Allen Service was a great experience from start to finish and will definitely be a repeat customer. Thank you!

One star. Because I can't go lower. I had sewage back up in my basement shower. I called Allen Service to do a clean out on my main line. $700.00 was charged for that service. During the process Mike Oliver stated he went "100 ft, " three time. He said I had build up, and bellies and I would have to switch my main line estimated at $10,461.00.

This was not the cause of my back up sewage. I had to spend additional money to get a valid reason behind my backup. Mike said we would have to dig up fences to switch the line and go to court if neighbors wouldn't comply. My line is not 100 feet and the images did NOT match With CAMERA At ALL. DO NOT let this company rush you into an unneeded projects. Get a second oppion.

After having a poor experience with another HVAC company, I called Allen Service to come look at my air ducts, furnace, and blower wheel. Mark Hatfield came to my home, was friendly, professional, and explained everything he was doing. We walked around my home and he showed me with a camera, the inside of all my air ducts. He also showed me that the inside of my furnace needed to be cleaned, as well as, that my blower wheel was very dirty too.

He was honest, about me not needing another "air duct cleaning" and just recommending he blower wheel cleaning. I have a new build and the place was sold to me with filthy air ducts, a dirty furnace, and blower wheel. I would recommend Allen Service. They operate with integrity and open communication.

Had a small leak from our water heater we suspected it was from the drain valve. When they inspected that's exactly what it was but found the leak over time had rusted areas of the heater. We were given several different quotes, and the cheapest of them is outrageous. Over $1000 to replace ONLY the drain valve. The options went up to over 11k to replace a 40gallon water heater.

The cheapest replacement for the heater being over 9k. These prices are insanely unethical. We are a young couple in what is clearly a starter home and just have to assume they thought we wouldn't know better. There is a good bit of work required, I can understand that but looking at other companies cost less then half what they wanted to charge us.

If we had been in a real emergency situation they would have been preying on our misfortune. You can claim you're up front all you want, but come on. You're unethically over capitalizing on peoples difficulties. Find a plumber who won't rob you.

Chuck, the plumber from Allen, was professional, personable, efficient and had 40 years experience. He did a great job redoing the plumbing for my farmhouse sink, routing pipes to leave as much usable space as possible. Very glad I called Allen. I have noticed that all the plumbing, and HVAC in my house was originally done by Allen and I have never had a problem.

My furnace/ac is almost 20yrs old and I have been debating who to call to replace this system. After my experience today, it is an easy decision, I will use Allen. I hope their HVAC people are as great as Chuck!

Our pipes froze and we were without water for a little over a day. We have a one-year-old currently, and we needed help asap. Allen services got Chuck out as fast as possible, and he got us up and running in about an hour. In the process, he noticed that there was a leak from one of the pipes bursting, and the heating tape was not doing great. He replaced the tape and got our leak fixed. It was stress free on my part, and he was very friendly to my very skittish dog and daughter. Highly recommend

Allen Service is convenient, quality, and professional from start to finish. Their website is easy to navigate, full of useful information, and as quickly as I submitted a service request, a representative called to book the appointment. We highly recommend Allen Service and will use them for all our future maintenance and repair needs.

I used Allen Plumbing once and was satisfied with the work and liked the technician, but the price did seem high. I decided to use them for installing a sink in my laundry room. It needed to be plumbed in and attached to the drain for the clothes washer. I bought the sink and had the hole cut out. When I explained what I wanted done the technician told me "this is going to cost you pretty penny".

She then wrote up the estimate, which took quite a bit of time, which was annoying because I had other things I needed to be doing. I wasn't interested in hearing about her family drama. When she showed me the estimate, I laughed and thought WTF? The quote at 4 hours of work was roughly $2500 and 3 hours would be about $1800. when I asked why it was so high, she said that included the parts that were needed.

I could tell she was totally bulls@#ting me. I can't believe the audacity and lack of ethics Allen charges to install a sink. I called another plumbing company and their quote was $429. I told them about the outrageous amount Allen was going to charge me. they guessed the estimate was $1000 and did not seem especially surprised to find out the price for the sink installation was enough to pay for the cedar hot tub I want someday.

I guess in the plumbing field Allen has a reputation for overcharging. If you have more money than you know what to do with, use Allen, otherwise they will most likely rip you off

If your ever in a jam and need a plumber ASAP do not call Allen Services! Called their 24 hour emergency services about 7 Sat night we were told tech would be out between 9:00 and 10:30. Got a call about 9:30 he was on his way would be there in 45 min. At 11:45 when he had still not shown up I called and canceled him. At 6:39 AM Monday they called wondering if we still needed service. I would give less then one star if I could

BAIT & SWITCH? Called, made appt for proposal to replace furnace and install air conditioning. Representative arrived at appointed time, spent 3 hrs reviewing project. Provided proposal. We signed proposal a few days later. Received call asking to bring installer to our home to review project and set install date/time. NO SHOW! I called again to see what happened.

Apparently "double-booked" appointment time. Hmmmm. Set another appointment. Received call advising that he would be a few minutes late. Ok, no problem. Spent another 2 hours with representative and installer. Signed another proposal accepting the project as quoted, set install date. Arranged my schedule to accommodate. Two hours later, received call advising us the project would cost an additional $5,000 AFTER having accepted and signed their original proposal TWICE.

What a waste of time, not to mention poor representation of company. Use caution when dealing with this company. My experience is that they cannot be trusted. The only reason I gave them one star, is that I couldn't give them a zero.

So, the one star is because I can not give a "zero" star. My NEIGHBOR hired these people. They 1. took down my fence without permission, 2. broke it, 3. put it back up incompletely, 4. dug into and broke both a sprinkler line and the electrical line to the valve box. I called repeatedly and demanded repair and the put me off for 2 weeks. Finally, someone named Mike offered to provide the broken fence part (which they did) and send a check for $500 to "more than cover" the repairs.

No check to date, filed complaint with BBB. My poor neighbor feels awful, though it is not her fault. I am sure they took her for PLENTY. What a terrible sloppy business.oh, and I had to find all this, they never contacted me at all.

Exceptionally good service. We dealt with a failed water heater that another plumber installed last August. It was a water heater from one of the big-box stores. The failure happened right before Memorial Day weekend 2021. We messed around with the warranty department of the manufacturer and with the big-box store staff. The plumber who installed the water heater was not available. Anyhow, we finally called Allen Service and Chuck came out on Saturday to attempt a repair and again on Tuesday to install a new water heater after we had given up totally on the 9-month old heater and everyone involved with it. Chuck was great, as was everyone else at Allen. We've lived in Fort Collins for over forty years and have used different plumbers. We'll stick with Allen from now on.

Apparently I am unable to respond to Danielle, the Allen Service pr person who slyly called into question the validity of my previous review in a comment left under that review. Yes, it all happened as I stated. Yes, I have receipts, but no, I am not going to spend any more of my time with this company, as frankly, I have quite literally moved on, which is why you cannot connect my data here with one of your accounts, Danielle: I no longer live in the state where the event occurred. That does not negate the horrid service, nor the cheating.

One star only because that's the lowest rating. When servicing my mom's furnace, they told her there were $3,200 in repairs needed on her furnace. She lives in a retirement community mobile home park and her home is only 3-years old. I went over and checked on her and the filter to the furnace was full. I cleaned it and hired another HVAC company to do a second opinion.

There was nothing wrong with her furnace. It was a full filter. I'm disappointed in Allen Service for either their negligence or targeting a vulnerable population. I'm scared for other elder individuals that don't have their kids regularly checking in on them. Retired individuals on a fixed income, can't afford to be taken advantage of.

Had Allen Service out for a general inspection and safety check of my elderly father's furnace. I was so pleased with the service professional, Chris. Chris was super professional, kind, and patient with my father's many questions. Chris reviewed the outcome of the inspection thoroughly. If you need a company to attend to your needs and especially a company patient with seniors this is your company. Well done!

I requested a quote to fix or replace my hot water tank. The guys were professional and knowledgeable, HOWEVER, the options I was quoted are hilariously overpriced. Several line items are quoted at 500% cost and the tanks themselves are quoted at 200% cost. The totals for 50 gallon and 40 gallon tanks were $3,383 and $3,290. I priced similar tanks and all the necessary parts at around $780. For example, $480 for a 3/4 valve and some flex hose ($30). Insanity!

BEWARE PEOPLE, they are scammer. They do not provide detail invoice. They charged $933 for two hour work. $600 for replacing faucet (we already bough faucet from Lowes for $200 so labor 3 times more than faucet itself), and the rest is for replacing some hoses for leaking sinks. When I talked to the manager, he promised 15% refund but not received a penny.

Find somewhere else or do it yourself and save money. We had been using Allen Service for years. I do not know what changed but they are simply screwing people now. I have to respond to their message. It is automatic response. $600 is your book price for changing faucet? Please put that info in your website. Be honest, do not play with customers. I needed that service at that time.

We could not say "no" at that time and you know it. I trusted the company I knew before but I learned that I should not. I cannot believe how you got all these 5 stars. I am sure most are fake. I will try my best to tell everyone about your company. We are trying to use local company but not like Allen anymore. People should check yelp or Angie's website to learn about this company. There are so many similar cases. In one case, they kept charging for their mistakes. Check that feedback.

Called yesterday 8/31/2020 to set up an appt for a quote was transferred to David I left a message at 11:43 am with my info to call back. It is 2:03 pm on 9/1/2020 with no call back. They should save their money that they spend on billboards and mailings if they can't return a simple call back. They are off the list for a quote! Update-9/3/2020. Did not reach out, they don't do what they say they will do.

I wouldn't have changed my mind about them, but don't say you will reach out and don't. Am getting quotes from other companies and will post regarding them. Stay away from this company!

Had a water heater wear out recently, and some duct work had also fallen and broken the P-strap beneath the tub. These leeches charged $49 to send someone--Steve "I will screw you" Anderson--out to give me an estimate. He lied to me, claiming that my usual provider, Aire Serv, had used substandard adhesive to affix the duct work. (Well, either he lied, or he didn't know 20+-year-old duct work when he saw it.) He sat in his van for a while, writing up the most absurdly, obscenely high estimates for each job.

This little nugget had the the audacity to boast that, unlike Aire Serv, he was a master plumber. Yeah, he was a mastur-something, all right. I called Aire Serv, they came out immediately, reattached the duct work (which had *not* been their fault) right away, and had a new water heater in by evening. Not being unscrupulous, money-grubbing bloodsuckers like Allen Service, they also referred me to a legitimate (unlike Allen) plumber, who had me fixed up by the next day.

In total, the replacement and repair only cost about a quarter of the *lowest* option the nugget from Allen had given me. (For fixing the P-strap alone, his lowest quote was $1,569 and his highest was a whopping $8,302(!) The plumber who ended up competently fixing it charged me $280.) First: You should never have to pay for an estimate. That's just their way of making up for all the people who see through their remorseless crap as they prey on the uninformed. Second: If you use these "people, " I hope your toilet is in working order, because you'll be flushing your cash down it. If you value both your own money and business integrity in others, avoid Allen like, well, the plague.

We called Allen for what I thought was a simple job to add a T and shutoff for a gas grill outside. The line already existed with an elbow and was easily accessible. There was a small amount of drywall to cut on the inside behind the stove to get to a fitting. They gave us an outrageous quote for the job at $697 then pitched a service contract with them for $100 and they'd knockoff $100 if I bought it.

I was super annoyed as the bid was way out of line for the scope. They then proceeded to charge $50 for the outrageous bid and they didn't even put the stove back. I then got another quote for just over 300 in line with my expectations/budget from another company. The whole experience was more like a scam than a legit bid. Theres Lots of good plumbers in Northern Colorado, don't use Allen. Ohh and from the looks of it here Allen has had many issues from other customers on price gauging.

I've used Allen service for several years. They are trustworthy, prompt, and they let me know when they're on their way, which I love. They do very good work, and stick by their estimates! I had an electric breaker problem, the gave me an estimate. When they started the repair, the problem revealed itself to be very complicated. Long story short, it took 2 men 10 hours to resolve the issue, and they only charged me what they estimated (about 2 hours of work). I will use this company forever.

After my review Allen reached out to me and offered to contribute half the cost of the floor repair. It was a nice and appreciated gesture. They did so through a refund to my credit card (possible because the service charge exceeded this amount). I didn't have to bug them about it and the manager I spoke with was kind. It was an ameliorative measure that did make me feel a little better about the unfortunate series of events, and at least served to curb the loss and as an olive branch.

I would like to commend Nick on the work he did at our place and also the overall professionalism, cleanliness and great job Allen Service did on installing a new hot water heater. Another company in Fort Collins (Northern CO Air) offered to send an ESTIMATOR out in four days and then schedule an install, possibly 2 WEEKS without a hot water heater!

I don't know about you, but I actually live for a hot shower! I am not sure how they stay in business with that kind of timeline. Nick was extremely knowledgeable about the project, and even went above and beyond to give us recommendations about improvements that were missing and needed -- like having the wrong venting for the water heater, which he immediately replaced on the roof.

We also had shoddy plumbing to the tank, which he fixed. This was causing an actual propane leak into the house, which I have been complaining about since we moved in -- now fixed! He even looked in detail at an unrelated plumbing issue we have, and we are going to schedule another appointment with them to look at that, as well. Communication was excellent, tech was awesome, timing was unbelievable (more important for this type of service) -- I am so happy!

My husband had this job completed when I got home that night, and I didn't even have to take one cold shower! At first I was upset that a replacement was so much more expensive than I thought it should be, but overall in the end, IT WAS ALL WORTH THE PRICE. The price was a little above the average internet quoted range, but since we are way out in the boondocks, everything is always higher out here, anyway. If you care more about quality, hire them! They rock!

Called for service for a leaking toilet. Will and Manny showed up and found that I had four leaking toilets. They presented me with proposal of $275 per toilet to replace leaking seal. Total $1,100. I thought price was outrageous so called another plumber. That was Action Plumbing. They replaced and repaired all four toilets for $ 192.88 total. In addition, I had a manager from Allen call me to ask why we did not use them. I told him their quote was ridiculous. His response - I am sure whoever you use, the fee will be approximately what Allen quoted you. Well - not the case. Shame on them!

Scored in multiple categories. Five stars for employees calling ahead before they arrive. Employees were also very clean and wore boot covers. They were friendly and courteous and paid attention to detail and seemed like they did a good job and left the area clean. One stars for corporate waiver forms. I was told that I had to fill out a form saying that I would pay the price or else there would be a certain fee that was a certain percent along with percentages that would accrue as an interest rate and legal fees.

Really this was crazy! I would agree to pay the price and give them my credit card and pay immediately but I wasn't signing anything stating that they were going to sue me and I would pay certain percentages and there lawyer costs. It really turned from a friendly agreement on price to a possible litigation agreement. It was a horrible way for a company to build trust with the new customer.

It instantaneously broke rapport! One stars for price. The price for just labor on the toilet replacement in a new house that is only three years old was $525! According to home advisor.com "A standard toilet install should take between one and two hours to complete and cost an average of $348 or less. Basic installs will run around $115. Unexpected costs could raise the cost up to as much as $800." Unfortunately many plumbers will not give you an estimate over the phone.

It is also not easy to compare prices since many plumbers will charge you a fee just to give you an estimate. If there are plumbers out there that are more transparent about their cost and publish them on their website at a fair price then I think they would get a ton of business. Overall score 2.33 stars.
