Belsito Plumbing Oven vents and fans are a nice addition to your kitchen. When cooking something particularly pungent (or when accidentally cooking to the point of charring) , your oven vent is there to reduce lingering odors and suck away smoke. To keep your stove vent running at peak performance, you need to clean your over-the-stove vent hood periodically. Below are some tips on how to turn this dirty job into an easy one.

Range Hood Cleaning: Filter Cleaning and Replacing
When it comes time for a good cleaning, range hood filters may be removed and soaked in a degreasing solution until the grease is dissolved. Wash them in soapy water to remove any traces of the degreaser. Also, a filter may be put in the upper rack of the dishwasher and run through a normal cycle. If you are located in Phoenix Arizona Belsito Plumbing can professionally clean your Kitchen hood.
Some stove vent systems actually circulate the air rather than suck it outside. These types of systems may have one or more activated charcoal filters which must be replaced when they lose their effectiveness.

Interior Range Hood Cleaning
The unit must be turned off before being cleaned. Also avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the light bulb or light bulb socket. You can clean the interior of the vent hood with a standard household degreaser/cleaner and a sponge or rag; it will probably get quite dirty, so make sure to use something that you don't mind throwing away afterward.

Exterior Oven Vent Cleaning
The exterior of a vent hood may also be cleaned with a standard household degreaser/cleaner or a non-abrasive cleanser. Since exterior range hood cleaning is a lot easier to do, you may want to incorporate it into your daily or weekly cleaning routine. If your vent hoods have never been cleaned, you may want to call in a professional to do the job the first time, as it is very likely that it will be pretty messy.

Stove Vent Problems and Repairs
Excessive grease and grime trapped in your vent hoods, years of neglect, and other factors can cause your oven ventilation system to malfunction. Unlike periodic range hood cleaning, things like improper function or odd noises during operation should probably be handled by a professional.

Kitchen exhaust cleaning (often referred to as "hood cleaning") is the process of removing grease that has formed on the walls of ducts, hoods, fans and vents in restaurant kitchen exhaust systems.

Processes

Two processes are used to clean kitchen exhaust systems:

Caustic chemicals:
Caustic chemicals can be applied to break down the grease. After that, hot water can be used to rinse away the residue. Chemicals are generally applied with either a garden type sprayer, downstream injection through a pressure washer or with a chemical foamer.
Once the chemicals are applied, they are allowed to dwell on the surface of the grease for a period of time, before being washed off of the surface with hot water. In extreme situations, where grease buildup is too heavy for a chemical application and a rinse, scrapers may be used to remove excess buildup from the contaminated surfaces, before chemicals are applied.

Hot water pressure
Machines can be used that both boil water and then apply this water under pressures up to 2000PSI. To prepare for this, heavy-duty tarps are first clipped to the hoods and then angled into plastic garnage cans to catch the run-off. As the cans are filled the contents are disposed of successively. The grease should be removed rather than just emptied into the local drains to avoid clogging issues. Some cleaners use both chemical and hot water pressure methods depending on the application and availability of tools.

Finishing
Often, cleaners also apply polish to the hoods for improved appearance. NFPA 96 also requires a purpose-designed sticker to be applied to the finished hoods to enable the Authority Having Jurisdiction as well as insurance adjusters to check for compliance with the local fire code.

Fire hazards
The build-up of grease in and around exhaust ducts has been linked to serious fires such as the Boston fire which caused the deaths of two firefighters.
Belsito Plumbing A septic tank, the key component of the septic system, is a small scale sewage treatment system common in areas with no connection to main sewage pipes provided by local governments or private corporations. (Other components, typically mandated and/or restricted by local governments, optionally include pumps, alarms, sand filters, and clarified liquid effluent disposal means such as a septic drain field, ponds, natural stone fibre filter plants or peat moss beds) . Septic systems are a type of On-Site Sewage Facility (OSSF) . In North America approximately 25% of the population relies on septic tanks; this can include suburbs and small towns as well as rural areas (Indianapolis is an example of a large city where many of the city's neighborhoods are still on separate septic systems) . In Europe they are generally limited to rural areas only.

The term "septic" refers to the anaerobic bacterial environment that develops in the tank and which decomposes or mineralizes the waste discharged into the tank. Septic tanks can be coupled with other on-site wastewater treatment units such as biofilters or aerobic systems involving artificial forced aeration.

Periodic preventive maintenance is required to remove the irreducible solids which settle and gradually fill the tank, reducing its efficiency. In most jurisdictions this maintenance is required by law, yet often not enforced. Those who ignore the requirement will eventually be faced with extremely costly repairs when solids escape the tank and destroy the clarified liquid effluent disposal means. A properly maintained system, on the other hand, can last for decades and possibly a lifetime.

Description
A septic tank generally consists of a tank (or sometimes more than one tank) of between 1, 000 and 2, 000 gallons (4000 - 7500 litres) in size connected to an inlet wastewater pipe at one end and a septic drain field at the other. These pipe connections are generally made via a T pipe which allows liquid entry and exit without disturbing any crust on the surface. Today the design of the tank usually incorporates two chambers (each of which is equipped with a manhole cover) which are separated by means of a dividing wall which has openings located about midway between the floor and roof of the tank.

Wastewater enters the first chamber of the tank, allowing solids to settle and scum to float. The settled solids are anaerobically digested reducing the volume of solids. The liquid component flows through the dividing wall into the second chamber where further settlement takes place with the excess liquid then draining in a relatively clear condition from the outlet into the leach field, also referred to as a drain field, or seepage field, depending upon locality.

Septic tank lift pump alarm system located in a house.
The remaining impurities are trapped and eliminated in the soil, with the excess water eliminated through percolation into the soil (eventually returning to the groundwater) , through evaporation, and by uptake through the root system of plants and eventual transpiration. A piping network, often laid in a stone filled trench (see weeping tile) , distributes the wastewater throughout the field with multiple drainage holes in the network. The size of the leach field is proportional to the volume of wastewater and inversely proportional to the porosity of the drainage field. The entire septic system can operate by gravity alone, or where topographic considerations require, with inclusion of a lift pump. Certain septic tank designs include siphons or other methods of increasing the volume and velocity of outflow to the drainage field. This helps to load all portions of the drainage pipe more evenly and extends the drainage field life by preventing premature clogging.

An Imhoff tank is a two-stage septic system where the sludge is digested in a separate tank. This avoids mixing digested sludge with incoming sewage. Also, some septic tank designs have a second stage where the effluent from the anaerobic first stage is aerated before it drains into the seepage field.

Waste that is not decomposed by the anaerobic digestion eventually has to be removed from the septic tank, or else the septic tank fills up and undecomposed wastewater discharges directly to the drainage field. Not only is this bad for the environment, but if the sludge overflows the septic tank into the leach field, it may clog the leach field piping or decrease the soil porosity itself, requiring expensive repairs.

How often the septic tank has to be emptied depends on the volume of the tank relative to the input of solids, the amount of indigestible solids and the ambient temperature (as anaerobic digestion occurs more efficiently at higher temperatures) . The required frequency varies greatly depending on jurisdiction, usage, and system characteristics. Some health authorities require tanks to be emptied at prescribed intervals, while others leave it up to the determination of the inspector. Some systems require pumping every few years or sooner, while others may be able to go 10-20 years between pumpings. Contrary to what many believe, there is no "rule of thumb" for how often tanks should be emptied. An older system with an undersized tank that is being used by a large family will require much more frequent pumping than a new system used by only a few people. Anaerobic decomposition is rapidly re-started when the tank re-fills.

A properly designed and normally operating septic system is odour free and, besides periodic inspection and pumping of the septic tank, should last for decades with no maintenance.

A well designed and maintained concrete, fibreglass or plastic tank should last about 50 years.

Potential problems
Excessive dumping of cooking oils and grease can cause the inlet drains to block. Oils and grease are often difficult to degrade and can cause odour problems and difficulties with the periodic emptying.

Flushing non-biodegradable hygiene products such as sanitary towels and cotton buds will rapidly fill or clog a septic tank; these materials should not be disposed of in this way.
The use of garbage disposers for disposal of waste food can cause a rapid overload of the system and early failure.

Certain chemicals may damage the working of a septic tank, especially pesticides, herbicides, materials with high concentrations of bleach or caustic soda (lye) or any other inorganic materials such as paints or solvents.
Roots from trees and shrubbery growing above the tank or the drain field may clog and or rupture them.

Playgrounds and storage buildings may cause damage to a tank and the drainage field. In addition, covering the drainage field with an impervious surface, such as a driveway or parking area, will seriously affect its efficiency and possibly damage the tank and absorption system.
Excessive water entering the system will overload it and cause it to fail. Checking for plumbing leaks and practising water conservation will help the system's operation.
Over time biofilms develop on the pipes of the drainage field which can lead to blockage. Such a failure can be referred to as "Biomat failure".

Septic tanks by themselves are ineffective at removing nitrogen compounds that can potentially cause algal blooms in receiving waters; this can be remedied by using a nitrogen-reducing technology, or by simply ensuring that the leach field is properly sited to prevent direct entry of effluent into bodies of water.

Environmental issues
Some pollutants, especially sulfates, under the anaerobic conditions of septic tanks, are reduced to hydrogen sulfide, a pungent and toxic gas. Likewise, methane, a potent greenhouse gas is another by-product. Nitrates and organic nitrogen compounds are reduced to ammonia. Because of the anaerobic conditions, fermentation processes take place, which ultimately generate carbon dioxide and methane.

The fermentation processes cause the contents of a septic tank to be anoxic with a low redox potential, which keeps phosphate in a soluble and thus mobilized form. Because phosphate can be the limiting nutrient for plant growth in many ecosystems, the discharge from a septic tank into the environment can trigger prolific plant growth including algal blooms which can also include blooms of potentially toxic cyanobacteria.

Soil capacity to retain phosphorus is large compared with the load through a normal residential septic tank. An exception occurs when septic drain fields are located in sandy or coarser soils on property adjoining a water body. Because of limited particle surface area, these soils can become saturated with phosphate. Phosphate will progress beyond the treatment area, posing a threat of eutrophication to surface waters.

In areas with high population density, groundwater pollution levels often exceed acceptable limits. Some small towns are facing the costs of building very expensive centralized wastewater treatment systems because of this problem, owing to the high cost of extended collection systems.

To slow development, building moratoriums and limits on the subdivision of property are often imposed. Ensuring existing septic tanks are functioning properly can also be helpful for a limited time, but becomes less effective as a primary remediation strategy as population density increases.

Trees in the vicinity of a concrete septic tank have the potential to penetrate the tank as the system ages and the concrete begins to develop cracks and small leaks. Tree roots can cause serious flow problems due to plugging and blockage of drain pipes, but the trees themselves tend to grow extremely vigorously due to the continuous influx of nutrients into the septic system.
Belsito Plumbing A leak in the slab is caused by plumbing pipes deteriorating under the foundation of your home. These leaking pipes can cause serious damage as the water rises to the surface of the foundation. The water will destroy the floor covering and other flooring materials.

Slab foundation homes are becoming more popular and as such water and sewer leaks under the slab are becoming more of a problem for homeowners. If you hear water running or have noticed an increase in your water bill, you may have a leaking pipe under your slab. This is a serious problem and it will only get worse with the longer you put off repairing it. Repairing a leaking slab will most likely be expensive, but the problem will only become more costly the longer you wait to repair it.

Slab leak symptoms can include:
1. A sudden increase in your water bill.
2. A noticeable drop in water pressure.
3. Damp carpeting or other floor coverings.
4. Cracks or settling of the foundation.
5. Mildew on the walls or baseboards.

If you notice any of these symptoms you should call a plumber experienced in slab leak detection immediately to avoid more expensive repairs by waiting until the problem gets worse. Video leak detection is the best way to locate slab leaks.

A plumber can locate and repair slab leaks using electronic leak detection technology. Always hire a plumber that specializes in electronic camera leak detection that can locate and repair the leaking slab quickly, before the problem gets worse and cost you much more in repairs.
Belsito Plumbing Water heating is a thermodynamic process using an energy source to heat water above its initial temperature. Typical domestic uses of hot water are for cooking, cleaning, bathing, and space heating. In industry, both hot water and water heated to steam have many uses.

Domestically, water is traditionally heated in vessels known as water heaters, kettles, cauldrons, pots, or coppers. These metal vessels heat a batch of water but do not produce a continual supply of heated water at a preset temperture. The temperature will vary based on the consumption rate of hot water, use more and the water becomes cooler.

Appliances for providing a more-or-less constant supply of hot water are variously known as water heaters, boilers, heat exchangers, calorifiers, or geysers depending on whether they are heating potable or non-potable water, in domestic or industrial use, their energy source, and in which part of the world they are found. In domestic installations, potable water heated for uses other than space heating is sometimes known as domestic hot water (DHW) .

In many countries the most common energy sources for heating water are fossil fuels: natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, oil, or sometimes solid fuels. These fuels may be consumed directly or by the use of electricity (which may derive from any of the above fuels or from nuclear or renewable sources) . Alternative energy such as solar energy, heat pumps, hot water heat recycling, and sometimes geothermal heating, may also be used as available, usually in combination with backup systems supplied by gas, oil or electricity.

In some countries district heating is a major source of water heating. This is especially the case in Scandinavia. District heating systems make it possible to supply all of the energy for water heating as well as space heating from waste heat from industries, power plants, incinerators, geothermal heating, and central solar heating. The actual heating of the tap water is performed in heat exchangers at the consumers premises. Generally the consumer needs no backup system due to the very high availability of district heating systems.

I have used Belsito for a few things over the past eight years. From simple things (installing a new garbage disposal) to a new pressure release valve. A few days ago, something unusual happened. The PBV in the back of the house was overflowing and then I heard the pipes in the walls banging so loud I thought the house would fall apart. Crazy. I called Belsito and they sent someone over early the next morning.

They spent a great deal of time diagnosing the problem and methodically eliminating possibilities. While this resulted in new prvs and pbv, they had to continue to investigate why the backflow was still occurring. They feared the worse: a slab leak. They had a Leak Detection company come right out and within two hours, the inspection (thankfully) eliminated a leak. So, they wrapped for the night with only one more thing to try, which they did early the following morning.

A PBV in the front finished off the mystery and all returned to normal. Along the way, they took notice of a few "minor" issues (one toilet needed a new Fill Valve which I replaced), and they doubled check a few other things just to be safe. So, this is the best part. It was their relentless pursuit of getting to the bottom of the problem: it was perhaps more personal pride than professional ($). Oh, it all cost a bunch.but what doesn't nowadays? So, in addition to everything being new and working brilliantly, I appreciate Belsito's integrity to not give up or short-cut their effort. Quite the opposite. Hard to find these days. I'm sticking with Belsito.

They were supposed to come out Friday between 2:00 and 4:00 not even a phone call had to call them no clue, said that they will come in the morning between 10:00 and 10:30. We shall see I will write another review. Bad communications. It was a no-show, To extend on my other review writing, 4 days later they contacted me from Friday to now Tuesday they really have the worst communication skills I've ever come across and their equipment doesn't seem to work. You cannot rely on them to do what they say!

My hot water tank was not working properly and the great people at Belsito got on it and while they had to order a part, the heater was completely fixed in three days. Seems as there are two heating elements and one had gone bad, leaving the other on giving me a little hot water. They suggested replacing both as when one goes, the other is usually not far behind.

I would like to single out the plumber, Louis, who kept in close touch every day and when the parts came in, shopwed-up at my house at 9 a.m. and was finished by 10 a.m. I also would like to commend dispatcher Tom, who coordinated all of this and made sure all went well. I give Belsito, Louis and Tom five+ stars. Bud M.

We used Belsito when we sold our house last month for the septic pump/inspection. They were able to schedule us quickly, which was great because we had a two week closing. Unfortunately, they found an issue which they needed to repair. They were again able to schedule us in a timely manner. The guys they sent out - Robby, Dakota, and John - were great guys to work with in what was a stressful situation.

They identified and explained the issues and were able to figure out and make the necessary repairs. Really nice guys who really care about the customer and doing a good job. Also, despite the mess of digging a giant hole in our front yard and all the equipment and associated materials, they left it immaculate. I would recommend them!

Stay away from this company! Over the phone with Uriah, I was told that next day they will locate the septic tank and send excavator. I was suppose to pay $250/hr for digging and another $550 for pumping. Instead, they sent 2 guys that were manually digging for hours. Next day they did sent excavator. It took him 2 hrs to reach the tank. Locator spent 30 min.to pull the toilet and locate the tank.

The bill was $2000 before even going into pumping expense. When I expressed my outrage, Darren McNamara offered $450 credit. That was it.never heard from them again and never got the credit.

These guys have shown up to my house on multiple occasions for various reasons. It's been the same guy each time. Always friendly and smiling with a good attitude about whatever he's about to get into. This last time it was a stuck grinder pump in the basement. A gross endeavor. But, the positive attitude prevailed. Repaired for a very reasonable price considering the task. Would highly recommend and would use again when necessary. Thank you Belsito.

Find another company to work with. Absolutely terrible service. Not only are their services terrible, but they do not stand behind their work. Replaced a shower cartridge with them, it failed in 3 months. Called me back to say they will charge me the same amount to do the same repair? Sorry guys, if I take my vehicle in for a repair, and the repair fails is short amount of time, you guys should stand up behind your work. They didnt. I will never use this company again, stay clear and work with better companies out there.

Belcito Plumbing deserves all the stars they can get! I've used them twice- at my house to fix a sewer pipe and at my Mom's to fix the main water line to the house. Both times the job was done on time, correctly, and within the estimate. Mike was especially appreciated at my Mom's house. Totally professional, helpful by explaining things, and making her feel comfortable with the repair. Jay and his crew are highly recommended by us!

Belsito plumbing is fantastic! Robby and Jon disconnected our septic and hooked our home up to city sewer. They were prompt, professional and answered any concerns we had throughout the process.not to mention very hard working individuals, even in 110 degree heat! We have a lot of landscaping and they planned the best way to install the new sewer, with the least amount of impact to our front yard. Great people to work with. Thank you for taking pride in your work and doing an amazing job!

We had a plumbing emergency with slab leak. Two leaks in hot water pipe. This is a challenging job and it was decided the pipes should be rerouted from under the house to overhead. We hired Belsito and got a great crew that spent 3 days on the issue. They worked so hard barely stopping and got the job done. The crew was Robby, Mikey and Jeffrey. They kept us up to date with everything they did and were are pleasure to have around. Everything was left tidy after they were done. We were in good hands and highly recommend Belsito for quality work and excellent workers.

I contacted Belsito Monday morning, they called me right away, and scheduled my appointment the following day since it was not a specified emergency, and I did not need immediate service. They had honored all quoted prices stated over the phone. The tech arrived on time, and notified me 30 minutes prior. The plumber was personable and professional during every interaction while he was here. Josh came over, did a very thorough job at snaking out my drain, and went above and beyond cleaning up from the mess from the snake job. Josh had ensured that the drain was fully clear prior to departure to ensure a completed job.

When it came to invoicing, I was able to pay on his iOS device prior to his departure. Highly professional group. If I need to have another plumber come out, I would not hesitate to reach out to this company directly.

I recently had a septic tank fill and back up into the house. Belsito Plumbing responded over a weekend when others did not. They came out with a crew and resolved the issue. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and efficient. They remain at the top of my A list for any future needs.

I was pleased when I first contacted the company. I had no trouble giving them my information and a few details about my issue, and after doing so they were supposed to call me back to get everything figured out and set up. When they did call back I was with a client, so I returned the call about 20 minutes after receiving the voicemail from them.

However the receptionist or girl who's in charge of answering phone calls was extremely rude when I called back, I tried to explain my situation and she did not acknowledge anything I said, and the way she spoke to me made me feel very little. Big disappointment

Robbie and john from Belsito plumbing were AWESOME! They put in a new septic system at my Nana's house and were top notch all the way. They walked us through each step and worked like crazy to get our house back to normal. Robbie even gave us a map of how it was laid out so we would know for future reference. We can't thank them enough for their hard work, being so courteous, and kind. They are professionals at what they do. We will use Belsito plumbing going forward because of them. I will recommend them to anyone who needs a plumber!

Belsito was a lifesaver! I live in a condo complex where a main plumbing line burst and our 150 units did not have water for over 8 hours. Belsito was the third company to come out after two other companies botched the job/said they could not fix the issue until the next morning. Despite being muddy and working past 10pm, the Belsito team was positive, friendly and got the job done! We are so appreciative of the Belsito team and highly recommend them!

I'd give zero stars if possible. Bait and switch price. Watch out! They told us a price for two septic $1500 inspections for real estate requirements. We asked for an email of the price quote and the woman said that they don't do that. They were supposed to be here at 10:00 am but showed up after 1:00 pm. When they got here, they came in a pump truck.

They dug around a little bit, then asked if they could they go get the tractor. I guess the two lethargic guys didn't feel like digging. It took them an hour and a half to get back with the tractor. Why didn't they have the tractor on the truck when they came to the house? Then they tell us it is now $900 more for the tractor. This was never told to us ever or agreed to.

We called the office and talked to Tom. He talked over us and tried tell us that the tractor cost $900 and it's now $2400. We never agreed to that. I guess he thought since he was at our property now, he could charge us more. We kicked them off the property. Horrible company. Beware. Get it in writing.

We had an issue with an old shower handle/valves that broke in our custom shower. We had several plumbers come out and got "ballpark" figures. Kenny from Belsito came out and actually took off the plate so he could see what was in the wall that would need to be replaced. Belsito came out, and replaced all our fixtures, updating them without needing to do any work on our existing tile as they knew we wanted to keep our existing set up.

Work was done quickly and expertly, and we are loving having our shower back. Great service and professionalism with Belsito. We will definitely use them again the next time we need a plumber.

I hired Belsito to convert my propane outdoor fire pit to natural gas as I specifically wanted large flames for warmth and was only getting about 2-3 inch flames. Nothing but positive things to say as this turned in to basically a complete gas installation rather than simply running a gas to a completed stone seating area with pavers. Although it required a return trip, they pulled a new gas line from the gas supply that they had pulled to the fire pit under the existing seating area. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I would recommend this team for any gas needs.

I replaced my garbage disposal, but it kept leaking. Tried several times. Finally gave up and called Belsito plumbing. They sent someone in a timely manner. Arrived right on time for the appt and fixed the problem in less than an hour. Wish I could have done it myself, but am happy it is fixed.

I would not recommend these guys for any work at all. So I have a clogged main drain call them out here. Gentleman shows up and says he clears the leak been here less then 30 minutes and its a $300.00 charge which would have been totally fine if it solved my problem. Few days later I smell raw sewage walk around house see that the caps were not put back on the risers after he cleared the leak so I'm not sure how long I was backing up again.

Call the company back they say if i want someone back out they are going to charge me again for the same problem I had them out in the first place for. We get in an argument then the Manager calls back we go back and forth a little bit then he says that he is going to get someone back out here to see if we can fix the problem. Now its been 30 hours since the call back and I have yet to hear anything. Just handed this company $300 bucks for nothing. Run from the hills from these guys!

The service I received was no better or worse than any other plumber. I had a small leak on a pipe coming out of an out door garden hose outlet. The price was $600 plus tax. I was ask to pay in advance and that he would return the next day to do the repair. Not knowing the extent of the repair and time needed for the repair. I foolishly agreed as we were leaving in a couple of days to visit our children in TX and I needed to have this done before we left.

The plumber came the next morning and did the repair in 15 minutes. I was shocked. It was the most EXPENSIVE plumbing repair ever. Besito is the most expensive, most dishonest, most un-reputable, plumbing service you will find. DO NOT USE BELSITO PLUMBING. There are many plumbers around. Balsito should NEVER be one you call.

I needed to get my septic tank pumped and was not sure what needed to be done. I called Belsito Plumbing after reading their reviews on line, I am glad I did. The technician that came out knew just what to do and took care of everything. He was quick, clean and very knowledgeable. I would use them again for sure.

I had a problem with my water heater a few weeks ago - after taking a cold shower I decided to bite the bullet and call a plumber. Not knowing who to call I Googled a plumber. I called Belsito Plumbing after finding their ad and going to their website. I thought this was going to be costly and I just knew I was going to be buying a new heater, but after the technician looked at it, he told me it was just an element which was much less than replacing the heater.

It's nice to know that there are professional and honest businesses still. They could have easily sold me a new heater and I would have never known the difference, but instead they replaced the element, saving me a lot of money. I would highly recommend Belsito Plumbing to anyone and will use them again in the future.
