When it comes to bath tub choices, we still recommend the Cast Iron tub for quality, appearance and longevity. Kohler is still the main supplier although American Standard makes their own version called the Americast that claims to be as durable and much lighter to install. There are fiberglass and acrylic finish choices for tub, showers and combinations all of shapes, quality and price levels but one factor that must be realized is the ability to get the fixture through existing doorways so remodel or sectional units are often necessary.
